In short: Attendance Calculator
Having attended 52 of the 70 classes held so far, your attendance stands at 74.29%. Below the rule, but you can still get there. With 30 classes still to come you must attend 23 of them to reach the rule, which leaves 7 that you could afford to miss, and the best you can now reach is 82.00%.
What is Attendance?
Attendance percentage is the classes attended divided by the classes held, and most institutions require it to stay above a fixed line to sit an examination.
How is Attendance calculated?
Divide the classes attended by the classes held and multiply by a hundred. To find how many of the remaining classes you must attend, take the required share of the whole term's classes and subtract what you have already attended, rounding up.
- athe classes you have attended
- hthe classes held so far

| Where you stand | Below the rule, but you can still get there |
| Classes you must still attend | 23 |
| Classes you can afford to miss | 7 |
| Best you can reach | 82.00% |

Questions people ask
How many classes can I miss and still be allowed to sit the exam?
That is the figure shown as classes you can afford to miss, worked out from the whole term rather than from today. It assumes the remaining classes all actually take place. Holidays and cancelled classes change the total, so check the figure again later in the term.
What if the rule is already out of reach?
The tool says so rather than showing a negative number, which is the honest answer: no combination of the remaining classes gets you there. The best reachable figure is shown so you know where you will land. Most institutions have a process for a shortfall on medical grounds, and it is worth asking early.
Are lectures and practicals counted together?
Usually they are counted separately, and each may carry its own requirement. Run the tool once for each if that is how your institution records them. Combining them can hide a shortfall in one.
Does medical leave count as attended?
At many institutions approved medical leave is condoned up to a limit, but the rules differ and the paperwork usually has to be filed at the time. Ask the department rather than assuming. This tool counts only what you enter as attended.
