In short: Time Zone Converter
The time entered becomes Wed, 14 Oct 2026, 02:30 in the second zone. America/New_York is 9 hours 30 minutes behind Asia/Kolkata, and that moment is on the Same day there. Daylight saving is handled from the browser's own time zone database, so the answer is right for the date you choose and not only for today.
What is Time Zone?
A time zone converter takes one moment in time and writes it in the local clock of another place, allowing for daylight saving where it applies.
How is Time Zone calculated?
Both zones are looked up in the time zone database for the date you chose, which gives each one's offset from universal time on that date. The difference between the two offsets is applied to the clock time. Taking the date into account is what makes daylight saving come out right.

- Choose the zone you want it in.
- Read the converted time, the difference and whether the day changes.
Questions people ask
Does this handle daylight saving?
Yes, because both zones are looked up for the date you entered rather than for today. A meeting in January and the same meeting in July can be an hour apart from India, and this is why. India itself has no daylight saving, so only the other end moves.
Why does India have a half-hour offset?
Indian Standard Time is set five and a half hours ahead of universal time, which is why conversions often land on the half hour. A few other places, including Nepal and parts of Australia, have offsets that are not whole hours either. The tool shows the difference in hours and minutes for that reason.
Which city should I pick if mine is not listed?
Pick any city in the same zone, because the zone decides the offset and the daylight saving rule, not the city. The list holds the zones people convert between most often from India. Any city in the same zone gives the same answer.
Does the conversion need the internet?
No. The time zone database is already in your browser, so this tool works offline like the rest. Nothing about the time you enter is sent anywhere.
